“Dragons of Stormwreck Isle” takes place on the eponymously named island. But where in the world is it? And while we’re at it which “world” are we even talking about?
The 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons uses the lavishly detailed high-fantasy world collectively known as “the Forgotten Realms” – though the main continent most adventures take place on is named Faerûn.
Stormwreck Isle is situated in the Sea of Swords three-and-a-half miles off the west coast of Faerûn – a little south of the famous (infamous!) city of Neverwinter. And yes, even the west coast has a Faerûn name: “The Sword Coast”.

But don’t strain your eyes looking for Stormwreck Isle – it isn’t labeled on the map! If you can find Neverwinter (very near the northmost section of the Sword Coast) you’ll have a pretty good idea of where Stormwreck Isle is. And yes, this is a rugged, northern locale. Sparsely populated, largely untamed wilderness. The perfect place for an amazing adventure!
